Architecting Global Knowledge for the Giving Circle Movement

Overview

Philanthropy Together is a global initiative dedicated to democratizing and diversifying philanthropy through giving circles. For an organization managing a massive influx of data and educational tools, a standard “Resources” page wasn’t enough. They needed a high-performance, searchable library that could scale with their global mission.

We stepped in as their technical partners to provide ongoing site maintenance and, most importantly, to architect a custom Resource Library. This wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about building a robust, filterable database. By utilizing custom code, dedicated Custom Post Types (CPT), and advanced faceted search, we transformed a complex collection of assets into an intuitive, user-friendly knowledge hub.

The challenge

From Content Chaos to Categorized Clarity

Philanthropy Together possessed a wealth of guides, videos, and research papers, but their existing infrastructure made these assets difficult to find. Without a sophisticated filtering system, valuable resources were buried under layers of pages. To serve a global audience, they required a system that could handle "thousand tiny decisions" regarding data relationships—ensuring that a user looking for a specific "Start-up Guide" in a specific "Language" could find it in seconds.

The solution

Custom Engineering for Seamless Discovery

We moved beyond the limitations of off-the-shelf plugins to build a custom-engineered solution. By developing a dedicated infrastructure for their content, we gave Philanthropy Together the power to manage their library with ease while providing their users with a "Lightning Bolt" search experience.

Custom Post Types (CPT)

We built a backend structure specifically for "Resources," separating them from standard blog posts for better data integrity.

Advanced Facets & Filtering

Using custom-coded logic, we implemented a faceted search system that allows users to filter by category, topic, and media type simultaneously.

Maintenance & Security

Provided consistent, high-level technical support to ensure the site remains fast, secure, and optimized for global traffic.

Designed the library interface to be clean and accessible, ensuring that the technology never gets in the way of the mission.
